Lakeport Barber Shop owner Jason Milhoan, pictured with his 7-year-old German Shepard Isabella, came from a family of barbers. His father cut hair, and so did his brother. Eight years ago, he bought the barber shop from his brother, where he’s worked ever since. Milhoan strives to keep his shop a place of community for people to meet and speak with their neighbors. He has a number of regulars who have been visiting the shop since before Milhoan’s family owned it. “Same conversations going on here: The Tigers, the president and the weather,” he said.
The Port Huron Branch of the NAACP organized a demonstration Thursday, June 4, 2020, calling for an end to police brutality in the wake of George Floyd's death at the hands of police officers in Minneapolis. Demonstrators, along with local officials and area law enforcement officers, marched from SC4, through downtown Port Huron to the Municipal Office Center.

For 42 years, Bill Durow has either kept the scorebook or operated the scoreboard for St. Clair’s football and basketball teams. When East China Stadium opened in the 1980’s, he took over the same responsibility for Marine City’s football team. Since then, he’s added other schools and sports to his roster. Over the past four decades he’s operated the scoreboard for nearly 750 games. "It's almost like every day is game day for me," Durow said. "When I time football or basketball, I'm in on every play – and it's a challenge for me to do a solid job. I just like being part of the action opposed to being in the stands."
